Cairn Chemical Spill Kit Training
If you have a Cairn Technology Limited Chemical Spill Kit, and are looking for chemical spill kit training for your hospital or laboratory then you have come to the right place. Cairn Technology is one of the UK’s leading authorities on chemical spills in hospital environments and has delivered comprehensive training to hundreds of hospitals nationwide.
The Cairn Chemical Spill Kit Training Course
The Cairn Chemical Spill Kit Training Course was created to provide practical solutions and increased knowledge about chemical hazards in the workplace.
COSHH regulations require employers to provide training and safety equipment to staff using chemicals classified as hazardous to health. As a specialist in this area, Cairn is well suited to provide detailed training geared towards the specific chemicals used by staff.
The course has been developed in conjunction with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.
It also includes guidance issued by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), the NHS Executive and numerous nurses and sisters who have first-hand experience of incidents involving hazardous chemicals.
Why you need spill kit training
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) state that hospitals must have effective chemical spill management measures in place to protect those at risk of exposure. Part of this is the ability to respond to a spill and deal with it quickly and efficiently, minimising the risk.
In a busy and high risk environment such as a hospital, chemical spills can occur at any time, and for a variety of reasons – from human error to mechanical breakdown.
If a spill does happen, it puts visitors, staff and patients at risk of exposure. It may even result in closure of your department, meaning you cannot deliver your service to those who need it.
