Why choose an air fed hood over a respirator to clean a chemical spill?

The Cairn Technology Wall Mounted and Rapid Response Chemical Spill Kits come with 2 respirators as standard. However, owing to the limitations of a respirator they might not always be suitable for your department.

Staff with facial hair, staff members without a valid face fit test for the respirators provided in the kit, would not be able to wear a respirator and as a result they would not be able to enter the contaminated area.

We advise that you assess the staff in your department to determine whether an air fed hood would be preferable.
