Air Monitoring Services

Using a combination of continuous monitoring and personal sampling techniques, we can help you fulfil your COSHH obligations wherever your staff are exposed to hazardous substances in your healthcare setting. We can demonstrate how the air quality in your workplace varies over the period of monitoring, and we can provide a comprehensive report including discussions and recommendations based on our findings.

Absorbent Floor Mats

Cairn Technology is the exclusive UK supplier of the T-Mat, the most absorbent floor mat on the market for operating theatres. The T-Mat is fifteen times more absorbent than an inco pad, capable of absorbing up to 8.5 litres of water or 3.5 litres of saline. It can gel liquids in seconds, hygienically binding the fluid and becoming dry to the touch for simple and hygienic disposal in clinical waste.

We also stock the DryMax range of Absorbent Mats for optimum fluid management during procedures, and in scrub rooms. The DryMax XL, for example, can fully absorb up to 2 litres of all liquid, while an anti-skid barrier keeps the mat in place. It can therefore reduce the risk of wet and slippery floors, and as it can be easily disposed of in clinical waste, it will also reduce your cleaning time between procedures while cutting down on the risk of cross-infection.

Surgical Instruments

We are a leading supplier of the Stille range of handcrafted surgical instruments, which are warrantied for 30 years.  Designed for optimum handling, performance, and durability, they cater for a range of surgical specialisms including cardiothoracic, plastic, reconstructive, orthopaedic and general surgery.

Air Purification Solutions

We are specialist suppliers of the Blueair HealthProtect range of hospital-grade purifiers. These are capable of capturing and killing up to 99% of viruses and bacteria, and up to 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns. So as well as significantly reducing the levels of airborne pathogens in your healthcare setting, they can also clean your air of:

  • Particulate matter.
  • Dust.
  • VOCs.
  • Smoke.
  • Pollen.
  • Pet dander.

A single Blueair HealthProtect air purifier can completely cycle the air in a large room in as little as 12.5 minutes. As well as playing a crucial role in effective infection prevention and control, they also enable you to deliver superior quality of care through allowing your staff and patients to breathe fresher, cleaner, and purer air from day one.

Infection Control Products

Robust cleaning procedures are a vital part of effective infection prevention and control. And we can supply your healthcare setting with an advanced range of highly effective cleaning and containment products.

Our range includes the Virusolve+ line of single step antimicrobial cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising solutions, which are capable of killing superbugs in as little as five minutes, and everyday bacteria within 1 minute of contact. We also stock the Virusan range of Antimicrobial scrub, which can annihilate 99.99% of the most common germs in less than 60 seconds.

Monitoring and Testing Services

Regular workplace exposure monitoring is crucial to meeting your Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations. We can carry out expert air quality testing procedures wherever staff, patients, and other visitors might be exposed to hazardous substances within your healthcare setting.

We can test for levels of:

  • Inhalable and respirable dust.
  • VOCs.
  • Particulate matter (such as from road traffic)
  • Entonox, formaldehyde, NO2, Isoflurane, Chlorine, and other hazardous chemicals.

We also offer additional specialist services, including bio-burden testing, spill kit training, and face fit testing.
